The credit union began as Menomonie Farmers Credit Union in 1939. Its primary membership was the Menomonie farming community. Through the years, it merged with other credit unions and membership grew to include a variety of occupations in western Wisconsin. In the summer of 1990, the name to WESTconsin Credit Union.
